The Pre-K Plus Program at My Second Home Early Learning Center prepares 5- to 6-year-olds for a successful transition to Kindergarten. The classroom experience in the Pre-K Plus program is exactly the same as what you’d expect in a Kindergarten classroom. Our curriculum supports language development and early writing skills in 5- to 6-year-olds by focusing on the following areas:

  • Group conversations
  • Storytelling using props
  • Recognizing and writing both uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Recognizing and writing the child’s own name


It’s never too early to teach children how to use math to solve problems. Our curriculum encourages students to explore math concepts including:

  • Pattern recognition
  • Sequence of events
  • Recognition and writing of numbers 0-10
  • Basic counting skills



At My Second Home Early Learning Center, we encourage kids to think outside the box and experiment. We teach 5-to-6-year old’s basic scientific concepts with experiments and hands-on learning..

Physical Learning

Physical fitness is crucial for the development of healthy kids. Children in the Pre-K Plus program receive 60 minutes of physical activity each day. We help children develop in the following areas:

  • Coordination and balance
  • Basic nutrition
  • Basic personal safety
  • Basic personal care and hygiene

Social Learning

We prepare your child to enter primary school by helping them develop strong emotional and self-regulation skills. We stress the values of mindfulness and kindness in our Bible-based curriculum. When students complete our Pre-K Plus program, they’re well-equipped to enter kindergarten. Our program helps children learn how to:

  • Recognize their own emotions and the emotions of others
  • Constructively use words and actions to express feelings
  • Develop and maintain friendships
  • Develop good manners
